Once a dancer…

Danielle shared this with me tonight and it’s so beautiful and loving and hopeful, despite everything.

This is such a fantastic thing to see and speaks to the power of music to communicate with those who are living on a dementia journey – in this case Alzheimer’s.

Marta C Gonzales had been a principle at the New York Ballet. The video they undercut with is – I understand – her performing this specific dance in 1967!!! How cool is that!!!

In 2019, Marta died. Before that, this video was shot. And Marta told a care worker that the music had made her emotional.

It made me emotional too.
